In English
As young wine growers, we are both sincerely proud and very happy to open our vineyard and display our produce to you in Montlouis sur Loire. Above all, we wish to share with you the pleasure we have in cultivating our vineyards and making our wine.
We have therefore devised our specials discovery activities, during which we will guide you throughout the different stages of our job as wine grower, from the vineyard to the cellar, from the grape to the glass, guided by the changing seasons.
Our wine Appellation is located at the junction of the River Loire and the River Cher, a few miles East of Tours.
Montlouis sur Loire is characterised by its devotion to the cultivating of only one white grape variety called the Chenin.
This extraordinary grape variety is known all over the world for its delicate and fruity aromas, evoking apple and quince jelly, but also for its light aromas of white flowers like acacia or hawthorn blossom.
The Chenin unarguably produces great wines, often wines to mature in your cellars. For after a few years, they develop honey notes while remaining remarkably fresh.
We nurture our vines, which trail over 7 hectares.. Our care of them reflects our view of modern wine growing, namely:
- Respect for the soil
- Respect for the fauna and flora.
According to this policy, we use neither chemical fertilizers, nor synthetic pesticides or insecticides and work in organic farming.
It is also a way for us to look to the future, to maintain the quality and fertility of the ground that will be the lagacy of those who come after us.
We are committed to offering you authentic wines that faithfully express their regions and fully satisfy those who long for the taste and experience of natural wines. To do so, it involves
- All the vines are harvested by hand
- No addition of yeasts nor industrial enzymes
- Minimum use of sulphur
- Moderate filtering before bottling.
We propose you a wide range of AOC Montlouis sur Loire wines, which declines from our fine sparkling to our liquorous wines. All our parcels are harvested by hand and our grapes arise from organic viticulture (certification by ECOCERT). The vineyard yelds are around 25 hl/ha. The grapes are harvested very ripe and sorted by successive pickings. Our wines are not chaptalized and fermented without contribution of industrial yeasts, we sulphur very reasonably before the bottling. We want our wines to be authentic and natural, reflections of their soils, their vintage year and their varietals.
Our « Fines Bulles »
A highly qualitative work serves our basic sparkling wine: manual harvest of very ripe grapes, moderate yelds (35 hl/ha), careful pickings and no chaptalization. The 2nd alcoholic fermentation is realized with residual sugars of the wine and we also disgorge without adding sugar. We wish that our Traditional Method to be a quality wine, reflecting its soils and asserts the aromatic qualities of Chenin. Elegant and racey, this wine is characterized by a fine bubble. The palate is marked by the typical acidity of Chenin, with a lingering finish. Note+ : apéritif, fish terrines, shellfishes, fish in sauce
Montlouis Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Nature (extra dry)
« non dosé » (no liquor added), for Chenin lovers, and nothing but Chenin…
Current vintage wine (2010) presents an astonishing fruity palate, with ripe pear aroma, tropical and white flesh fruits flavours. Bubbles are tonic yet at the same time fine and sweet. The palate is long and fresh. Very distinguished wine.
Montlouis Méthode Traditionnelle Perles Rares
Vinified and aged on yeasts in oak barrel during 26 months, then « sur lattes » during 10 months, Perles Rares is a very beautiful white wine before being a fizzy one! Beautiful length in mouth, with white flesh fruits and confectioner’s custard flavours. Bubbles are very fine and smooth. It presents a beautiful freshness, with a lot of character.

This « cuvée » is vinified and aged in tanks during 11 months (and bottled usually in August). Depending of the quality of the vintage, it can be medium sweet or sweet. It is characterized by fruity wines, easy to drink.
Demi-Sec 2010 (half-dry)
Clean and fine bouquet with nuances of citrus fruits, mango and white flesh fruits. The palate is round, perfectly well balanced, with a slightly sweet entry and a nice refreshing finale. It can be drunk from « aperitif » to desert and will be a perfect match with white meats, fish in sauce, salted cakes and pies, andouillettes and snails. A delight with sweet-and-sour meals and exotic cooking! Note+ : A meat stew of lamb with onions and pistachio nuts. To drink and to keep 8 years.
Montlouis sur Loire La Nef des Fous
This « cuvée » is made with grapes from our best « terroirs » and our oldest vines (60 years old on average). Vinified and aged in oak barrel on lees, it is bottled between 14 and 18 months after the harvest. It presents more minerality and freshness than Le Chemin des Loges. These fine wines are sometimes a little bit « austere » in their youth. Netherless, after maturing, this wine develops a rich palate of flavours and will accompany a sophisticated gastronomy.
Pour the wine into carafe before serving to air it.

To drink and to keep 8 years.
Demi-Sec 2010 (half-dry)
A beautiful balance with a finale on the freshness, chiselled and straight. A very elegant nose where express themselves finely aromas of apricot, quince and vine peach. . For a sophisticated cuisine where can get involved sweet-and-sour dishes and exoticism. Excellent with a slightly refined goat cheese – Sainte Maure of Touraine. Note +: a ginger and lemon Peking duck candies. To drink and to keep 12 years.
Velvet – Gamay, Côt, Pineau d’Aunis (Wine of France)
Our unique red wine is made from late-picked grapes by semi-carbonic maceration. The grapes are placed in closed tanks (80 % whole grapes / 20 % destemmed grapes) during 10 days. The fermentation starts with the juice that runs off from burst grapes and also takes place into each grape. The juice fixes more the fruit aromas and the colour hold in the grape’s skin.
This wine presents an expressive bouquet of small red berries (blackberry, black currant, raspberry), a round palate that reveals spicy and peppered aromas. This is an easy-to-drink wine, very « gourmand ». To drink and keep 5 years.
Served at 14-15°C, it accompanies well Rillons de Touraine, delicatessen and grilled meats.
Note+ : A roast pork in rosemary
Our wines are the reflections of their vintage quality and the climatic conditions during the harvest. Thus, our « cuvées » are not identical from a vintage to another, and even sometimes not produced (in particular sweet and liquorous wines). By respect for our work and so that our wines age quietly, thank you for keeping our bottles in a temperature lower than 15 °C. We also recommend you to pour our white wines into carafe and not to taste them too cold (ideal temperature 11/12 °) or just after their transport.
L’Âge de Raisin, our trade of wines
L’Âge de Raisin is our trade of wines, created in septembre 2010. The wines produced will allow us to enrich already existing « cuvées » but the volume of which remained insufficient (as Fun en Bulles and Jalousie, our Sauvignon). La Croisée des Chemins, our « new » dry Montlouis, is going to replace in particular Le Chemin des Loges (previously produced by Les Loges de la Folie).
We chose carefully our grapes, harvested very ripe by hand and sorted out by our team during. In cellar, we assure the same work of wine making The Loges de la Folie estate: no chaptalization, fermentations realized with natural yeasts, no oenological intrant, moderate contribution of SO2 before the bottlings. All these « cuvées » are vinified and aged in tanks.
La Croisée des Chemins - AOC Montlouis Sec 2010 (dry) – 100 % Chenin
This wine replaces Chemin des Loges Sec. A freshness, round and fruity wine.
Petite Fugue – Vin de France 2010 – 100 % Pineau d’Aunis
This « petite fugue » brings us to the Coteaux du Vendômois (where I began my reconversion, ten years ago, as wine-maker). Fond of Pineau d’Aunis, I have always dreamed to create my own vintage with this vine, cousin of the Chenin. Stemming from 80-year-old vines, Petite Fugue is a « spring wine », smooth and fruity, and typified well « Aunis »,
Les Sauvagines – AOC Touraine blanc 2010 – 100 % Sauvignon
This « cuvée » is born from a blend of our own grapes and those we bought.
« Spring wine », refreshing and fruity.
Fun en Bulles – Vin de France « Pétillant Naturel » – 100 % Grolleau
This wine also comes from a blend of our own grapes and those we bought. A dry and fruity « pét’ nat’ »!
